After reading and discussing Jack and the Beanstalk, each child used the iPad to make their own StoryKit to re-tell the story. Each child tried to have a beginning, a middle, and an end to their re-telling. We are learning to tell the big ideas and not all the details when we are re-telling. This activity was done completely independently, and I did not edit the stories in any way. Re-telling is a great skill to practice at home, as well! After reading a story to your child, have them practice telling what happened at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of the story. Telling about the characters and the setting of the story are also important skills in re-telling. Just click on the pictures below to see each child's StoryKit.
